Penny slipped away in her sleep in the early hours of the morning today.
Her last few days were mostly spent sleeping peacefully. Yesterday Andrew and Hannah took the day off from work and spent her last day with her, and a few of her friends came by as well. As Andrew was getting ready to leave, he said goodbye. Penny didn’t open her eyes, but she reached out to squeeze his hand.
After all the pain and discomfort that she had experienced over the last eight and half years, we are all thankful that the end was peaceful and pain free, and that she was able to remain home this last month, as was her desire.
