This afternoon we passed the final check — an ultrasound to check on clots in Penny’s legs — and were cleared for discharge. All electrolytes and hemoglobin seemed to be in acceptable ranges, and the clot in her right leg appears to be unchanged.
After supper — pizza with our GR kids — we finished rearranging the living room, adding a hospital bed to the places Penny can be while hanging out with family. After spending a few hours there, she’s now sleeping on the couch with her legs elevated on several pillows and in compression stockings, which we hope will reduce the swelling in her feet and legs. The swelling has increased quite a bit since coming home, and we’re trying to avoid it getting any worse. We’ll check in the morning to see how things look.
