You know you have spent too much time in the hospital when...
the ER nurse correctly recalls that you were there two weeks ago,
you are admitted and the tech who welcomes you to the floor also recognizes you, and
remembers that you are in the same room again.
The ultrasound indicates no blood clot in the leg, so we don't currently have a clear diagnosis. A CT scan is scheduled for 5:30 am and should provide some more information. It appears that blood flow to the leg is good and not the problem, but something else is not allowing the fluid in the leg to move elsewhere. Some potential causes can be treated at home with medication, others would normally require surgery. But abdominal surgery is complicated for Penny and might not be an option, depending on what would be required.
We'll see what the scan (and any additional testing) reveals and go from there.
