Today is off to a good start.
We also had a good conversation with Dr Patel, who has been managing Penny’s care in the hospital. We are still on track to return home tomorrow, and we have a home health care visit scheduled for 1pm, so that suggests some confidence in the plan.
Dr. Patel has increased Penny’s IV fluids and placed an order for IV fluids at home. This is something Penny was hoping for, and the primary reason we are not signing on with a hospice provider at this point. I’m guessing this will be added to tomorrow’s training session.
Today’s goals are to resume eating and to advance the diet a little bit at each meal. We’ll also be experimenting with a different way to use the G tube to see if we can avoid some of the symptoms from yesterday.
And knitting.
