Making progress

Thursday night I made myself some stir fried vegetables and Penny commented how good it smelled, but she wasn’t ready to try actually eating anything herself.

Friday morning she woke up hungry and had some yogurt during hydration. When we got home she had some tomato soup, and she had a bit of cream of broccoli soup in the evening. The day wasn’t free of ups and downs, but was by far the best day of the week.

Today has been even better and included scrambled eggs for breakfast and a trip to the yarn store with a friend. No pain or nausea meds required.

It’s always hard to know what causes these blockages to resolve. In this case, it may be that starting a new round of steroids on Thursday contributed, or possibly the radiation treatments. Or perhaps things just realigned themselves into a configuration that works.

Whatever the cause, we’re glad for a much better day. We’re off to the pharmacy, and then we’ll see what sounds good for supper.
