Penny passed all the pre-flight checks and received her first payment infusion of the new drug today.  We also discussed the scan Penny had last week.  Not surprisingly, the scan shows disease progression pretty much everywhere.  Mostly modest growth of everything on previous scans (mainly abdomen and lungs), but also some new places (e.g., lymph node by clavicle).

Compared to chemo and the previous 2 trials, this treatment is amazingly simple: 30 minute infusion every other week. Unless there are side effects, no pre-treatment meds are required.

We do have to have to stay here for another 3-4 hours after treatment for some post treatment blood draws, so all together it will be about a 6-hour day at the clinic. That may get shorter over time.

So far things are going smoothly.
