Penny had some blood work done last Friday and a CT scan this Wednesday. Today the researchers at START Michigan will be reviewing her case to see what clinical trials might be an option for her. Monday afternoon we have an appointment with Dr Lakhni to go over the results and figure out next steps. We know him already, since he was Penny’s first oncologist, before he switched over to working only with clinical trial patients.
So no real news at this point. Penny has lost a bit more weight this week (fasting for the CT scan didn’t help), but was up a bit this morning. We don’t think this any big concern at this point, but Penny is doing her best to keep her weight up in advance of the next phase of treatment.
Healing continues to go well. We walked to the end of our street and back without a walker a couple days ago, and moving about the house is mostly pain free, she just need to be a little careful getting up or down.
So it looks like we are ready for the next thing. We just need to find out what that thing will be.
