After a Benadryl-assisted nap this afternoon, Penny woke up feeling much better. Her first words were “I think I’m hungry.”
After eating a frozen lemon thing the nurses brought her, she ordered dinner (broth and jello), which also tasted good. When she finished that she started talking about all the snack foods (not yet on the prescribed diet) that sounded good to her. This far different from slowly taking a single bite of jello and pushing the rest aside, which has been more typical the last few days.
She’s also looking better than she’s looked since before the surgery. Some sparkle is back. And when we returned from our last walk, she spent a little time straightening up the room. So we seem to have turned a corner.
Hoping for a good night — the last couple have not been very good — and that she continues to feel good tomorrow as we once again try to progress the diet and transition to oral medications.
